Very low in numbers so we hopped in cars and headed to a trail (by my house(; &nbsp;) I was nervous beforehand that I wouldn&#39;t be able to keep up for very long but I felt super good &amp; did the whole run &amp; the striders. It felt so nice to be running again.&nbsp;</p> Fri, 12 May 2017 06:00:00 Thu, May 11, 2017 <p>Welp. This was it, my last high school race. It was our 4x100 &amp; I&#39;m&nbsp;happy with it. We took 7th &amp; it was a nice effort from everyone. Don&#39;t know my split.</p> <p>Not quite sure how I&#39;m feeling right now. I went into this season with the goal of having fun. I chose to not put expectations on myself, expectations definitely formed, but it was in a much more positive way than before.&nbsp;I learned to&nbsp;laugh&nbsp;mostly everything off whereas last year I would&#39;ve cried and I learned to be pleased with myself for trying my hardest, even if the time/place/jump wasn&#39;t where I wanted. I know I&#39;ve grown more as a person this season&nbsp;than I did the three previous seasons combined,&nbsp;and for that I&#39;m really proud and happy.&nbsp;</p> <p>At the beginning of the season, I wasn&#39;t sure if I was going to run track. I hadn&#39;t enjoyed running in so long, it was a chore. I am forever grateful that I did participate this year. I am so #blessed to be able to say that I have no regrets regarding track and also that I achieved my goal of having fun.</p> <p>Obviously I would&#39;ve loved to be running at state&nbsp;next weekend, but I can&#39;t say I&#39;m disappointed in the&nbsp;season. I learned a new hobby, made lots more friends, &amp; found joy in running, working hard, &amp; going to practice. Because of this season, I&#39;ll remember track &amp; field as a happy experience &amp; something I&#39;ll miss. I&#39;m actually tearing up writing this, senior year is a bittersweet time.</p> <p>Special&nbsp;shoutout to all the friends I&#39;ve made on &amp; off my own team and especially the blog family for being my #1s, to my parents for supporting me and loving me through everything, &amp; especially to Roberts for believing in me, caring about me, &amp; talking to me about whether I was happy or not. All we had today was starts(long jump for me) &amp; handoffs but we got lightninged into the school so we had to do handoffs in the hall, hope they&#39;re good for Thursday. &amp; I just did pop-ups through the halls. Chill day but ew @ the rain</p> Tue, 09 May 2017 06:00:00 Mon, May 08, 2017 <p>6x200, I&#39;ll never understand why it&#39;s so important to do a cool down/recovery jog between reps in distance running but not in sprinter workouts. Anyway, janz said at the beginning if we stop hitting our times we have to quit &amp; after rep #3 I had hit 3 sec slower but when she told me that I really focused on making them quick and getting my form &amp; I was hitting much better times. Good workout for sure.</p> <p>We had the senior scholarship banquet tonight &amp; me and dallen were awarded the National Scholar/Athlete Award from the army reserve!!! Nice and easy lol</p> Sat, 06 May 2017 06:00:00 Fri, May 05, 2017 <p>HERRMIANN!!!!!!! i had 4 events today, long jump, 4x100, 800, &amp; throwers 4x100 (lol) first we went &amp; did the 4x100, our handoffs weren&#39;t perfect but they all came off clean so it was good. Then I went and long jumped, it was ight. My farthest jump was 13&#39;7&quot; which was kind of irritating but it&#39;s okay. In the 800 I was seeded 6th but the fastest girl in my heat was only 2 seconds faster than me, so I took it out strong to begin with and NO ONE else came up so I continued to lead but slowed the pace a little &nbsp;and came in the 400 at 1:18,&nbsp;I felt really good and started to pick it up and create a gap. I felt really strong through the whole rest of the lap &amp; finished good. I never looked at the results so my time is just what dallen had me at. The throwers 4x100 was hilarious, it&#39;s basically a 4x100 where instead of a baton you use a Twinkie and only people that do field events are allowed to do it but it was our same 4x100 team that ran earlier so it was nice. We finished running first but brianna couldn&#39;t eat the Twinkie fast enough so we actually finished last hahahahahah. This workout felt really good. It was nice to get a run in again, &amp; I felt really strong. It was hottt today but a nice workout, per the norm I thrived on the longer stuff. Definitely breathing hard by the end, I honestly don&#39;t like walking the recovery. It makes it feel harder. But solid day then picked up my grad announcements, they&#39;re pretty cute, you guys(:</p> Mon, 01 May 2017 06:00:00 Sat, Apr 29, 2017 <p>TIGER TRIALS YAYAY!!! Got there and chilled for a while. I was in the 4th flight of the long jump &amp; when it was time me and brianna went over &amp; warmed up and stuff. I ended up PRing by 3&quot; which was SO happy!!! I got 14&#39;7&quot; I&#39;m so pleased with my long jumping so far, I wish I would&#39;ve done it all my years so much. Then for the 400 me and brianna were in the same heat (yay). As promised I started on blocks but they didn&#39;t even let me practice NOT ONCE before they started the race so I just did my best, they still felt really good and easy though. I was in lane one and I got out good and felt good and I just tried to stay conservative for the first 200 then in the last 200 I passed everyone except brianna, she got me by .3 or something like that. One of my best feeling 400s ever because I actually had a kick. I was so pleased. Consistency is key. Then block starts HAHAHA wow am I bad(&#39;: coach z&nbsp;said I had to start off them in the 400 at Orem LOL so #prayforalli then long jump work, I did lots of pop ups and I&#39;m really hoping for a pr this weekend. But BOY AM I EXCITED for Orem, I am so pumped you wouldn&#39;t even believe. This one was a lot harder than yesterday, we had 2x500 (80%) &amp; 2x200 (70-75%) the 500s actually required some (a small but significant amount) of mental toughness. I could do it for days you guys. I did not pr so that&#39;s sad but I have next Tuesday so it&#39;s alright. Then the 400 was fine. My upper legs were 100% tight afterwards, like sooo tight. I don&#39;t actually know my time but that&#39;s what my mom said so I&#39;ll put that. Then I had to go home to do some se&ntilde;or ball stuff for tomorrow.
